My job as a photographer is to add to your collection in some of the most artful, creative, and beautiful ways so that you can share that collection with the lives surrounding yours, causing a ripple effect that will eventually carry you past your own lifetime and on to future generations. This is how we transcend the temporary. And that is my mission.
It is a big responsibility to document people and their personal histories, but it is one I shoulder with confidence, because of how important it is to me to preserve the stories of a life. What a cool job, huh?
Love is love. The connections I build in my life and my work is inclusive of all. It is a privilege to be welcomed in people's safe spaces, and I’m honored to create secure environments for my LGBTQ+ and BIPOC clients, and be a witness of the honest intensity of their stories. This is a staple philosophy in my business and my life, and it is the groundwork for my belief systems.

When I’m holding my camera, I’m extremely aware of my surroundings. I have the distinct ability to capture a moment without interfering. I’m often told I “appear out of nowhere”. While I can’t capture every single detail, I definitely manage to get most of them!
It’s a talent to accurately predict how events will unfold. I heavily rely on this ability in every aspect of life, but especially in photography. In a job that requires being ready for it all, seeing 2-3 steps ahead and being prepared for each one is an invaluable skill.
I can adapt to any energy, but when it comes to stressful situations, I remain extremely calm and composed. Being in a high-pressure industry for 15 years has sharpened my ability to work well under pressure and solve fires lighting fast. Wedding days are unpredictable; having vendors that you can trust to handle any situation (whether you ever know about it or not), it's so important.
Foreshadowing is just one advantage to preparedness, but another advantage is the ability to assume the needs of my client correctly. While communication and collaboration are necessary, it is important for me to have the experience to know what clients will want before they want it. As a wedding photographer, your images last a lifetime. There may be things you don't think about now, that I will. And that's my job.
Life experiences can make vulnerability difficult. I meet this with sensitivity and empathy so that I can create comfortable environments where clients can be authentically themselves. They deserve that space, and I’m here to document it.
There are five inherent characteristics that define my work and direction.
I am keenly and highly aware of my surroundings at all times, but especially behind the camera. I have the distinct ability to watch closely, and capture the moment without interfering. I’m often told that I “appear out of nowhere”. While I’m one person and can’t capture every single little detail, I definitely manage to get most of them.
I have a talent to accurately predict how events will unfold. From life-changing circumstances to tiny details, I heavily rely on this ability in every aspect of life, but especially photography. I have an adaptable personality to match any energy in the room. But when it comes to stressful situations, I remain extremely calm and composed. Find someone that you can trust to put out any fire.
Accurate foreshadowing is an advantage to preparedness, but also to assuming the needs of each individual client. While communication and collaboration are necessary, it’s important for me to understand unspoken or even unknown wants and needs. Everyone is different, and all wants and needs are valid.
Sometimes life experiences make vulnerability feel difficult. I meet this understanding with sensitivity and empathy so that I can create comfortable environments where clients feel enthusiastic about being authentically themselves. They deserve that, and I’m here to document it.

Brandon: errand runner, bag carrier extraordinaire, holder of soda, road trip buddy, fellow adventurer, traveling officiant, best friend, and the backbone of this business. His unconditional and unrelenting support, even through the wildest of situations, keeps my dream alive. Working through insane weather (like floods and tornados), getting two hours of sleep after driving or flying all day, last minute changes, long days after long days… he makes it all happen right by my side. I wouldn’t be here without him. If you get the chance to meet him during our time together, consider yourself lucky! He just makes life better.
This is James, my crazy kiddo. We both wear big personalities and the same shirt, sock, and shoe size. He loves video games as much as he hates school (a rebel after my own heart), eats cold pizza and disgusting sour candy, and craves quality time with loved ones (which means he follows us all over the house and finds any and all reasons to talk to us). He's got rampant ADHD, the weirdest sense of humor, and a heart of pure gold. Motherhood taught me how to uniquely embrace change, and find a very deep appreciation within the present. It's an absolute honor to grow up beside him.
One of the first things people know about me is that I love cats. I have three--they are brothers, all Scottish Fold and British Shorthair mix. Winston Atticus (black fur) is our little trouble maker: if anything is broken, it’s his fault every time. But I really think he’d die for us. The gray storm cloud is Jeffrey, named after Bo Burnham’s “Inside”. IFKYK. He’s the sweetest angel, and the most terrified of strangers. Pick him up and he’ll wreck your shit. Leonard Cornelius (white fur) is our baby. His name means lion heart, which is perfect for him. There isn’t much in his noggin, but his plops are 10/10. We are so lucky to love these boys.

I was not born
To create love for others
But my purpose is to witness it
In honest and vulnerable forms
It is simply being present
Allowing the impact to reach out
And gently touch the pieces of me
That also know love.
