About me

My inspiration

Fifteen years of photography has given me perspective on the human experience that forever changed my work and my purpose. My biggest inspiration is time.

Time connects us together in the understanding that everything we know is temporary. At the end of it all, we carry a summary of our lives through a collection of memories, stories, and pictures. Through these photographs, you relive your memories through my eyes, which is why I treat them as they are my own. Because in a unique way, they are.

Sacred days these are.
to be a witness of human experience
is to shout

''I lived''

My role is to give artful and creative images you can feel for a lifetime, so you can share your collection with the lives surrounding yours, causing a ripple effect that will carry past your lifetime and on to future generations. That’s how we transcend the temporary.
And that is my mission.

Documenting people's histories is a big responsibility, one I embrace with confidence and gratitude.
What a cool job, huh?

About me

My philosophy

Love is love. The connections I build in my life and my work is inclusive of all. It is a privilege to be welcomed in people's safe spaces, and I’m honored to create secure environments for my LGBTQ+ and BIPOC clients, and be a witness of the honest intensity of their stories. This is a staple philosophy in my business and my life, and it is the groundwork for my belief systems.

When I’m holding my camera, I’m extremely aware of my surroundings. I have the distinct ability to capture a moment without interfering. I’m often told I “appear out of nowhere”. While I can’t capture every single detail, I definitely manage to get most of them!

It’s a talent to accurately predict how events will unfold. I heavily rely on this ability in every aspect of life, but especially in photography. In a job that requires being ready for it all, seeing 2-3 steps ahead and being prepared for each one is an invaluable skill.

I can adapt to any energy, but when it comes to stressful situations, I remain extremely calm and composed. Being in a high-pressure industry for 15 years has sharpened my ability to work well under pressure and solve fires lighting fast. Wedding days are unpredictable; having vendors that you can trust to handle any situation (whether you ever know about it or not), it's so important.

Foreshadowing is just one advantage to preparedness, but another advantage is the ability to assume the needs of my client correctly. While communication and collaboration are necessary, it is important for me to have the experience to know what clients will want before they want it. As a wedding photographer, your images last a lifetime. There may be things you don't think about now, that I will. And that's my job.

Life experiences can make vulnerability difficult. I meet this with sensitivity and empathy so that I can create comfortable environments where clients can be authentically themselves. They deserve that space, and I’m here to document it.

I’m highly aware of my surroundings, especially behind the camera. I have the distinct ability for watching closely and capturing moments without interfering—people often say I “appear out of nowhere.” I'm only one person, but still manage to catch most details.

I have a talent to accurately predict how events will unfold—from big moments to small details. I heavily rely on this ability in every aspect of life, but especially photography. I am always two to three steps ahead and ready for anything. In a job that demands preparation, this skill is invaluable.

I adapt easily to any energy in the room, but in stressful situations I stay calm and composed. Fifteen years in a high-pressure industry have sharpened my ability to solve problems quickly. Wedding days are unpredictable—find someone you can trust to handle anything.

Accurate foresight helps me anticipate not just events, but the needs of each client. Communication and collaboration matter, but so does understanding unspoken or even unknown wants. Everyone is different—and every need is valid.

Sometimes life experiences make vulnerability difficult. I'm sensitive and empathetic to that, and strive to create comfortable environments so clients feel enthusiastic about being openly themselves. We all deserve that.

Meet the Family

Brandon: errand runner, bag carrier, soda holder, road trip buddy, officiant, best friend, and the backbone of this business. His unwavering support keeps my dream alive through floods, tornados, little sleep, long travel days, and last-minute changes—always right by my side. I wouldn’t be here without him, and if you get the chance to meet him, consider yourself lucky. He just makes  everything in life better.

The man, the myth, the legend

Meet Brandon.

This is James, my wild child. We share big personalities and the same shirt and shoe size. He loves video games, hates school, eats cold pizza and sour candy, and craves constant quality time (which means he follows us everywhere). With ADHD, a quirky sense of humor, and a heart of gold, he keeps life unpredictable. Motherhood has taught me to embrace change and treasure the present—it’s an honor growing up beside him.

Cat lady 101. I have three brothers, all Scottish Fold and British Shorthair mixes. Winston Atticus (black) is our troublemaker—if something’s broken, it’s him, though he’d die for us. Jeffrey (gray), named after Bo Burnham’s Inside (IFKYK) is an angel but terrified of strangers; pick him up and he’ll wreck your day. Leonard Cornelius (white) name means “lion heart.” He has a smooth brain, but his plops are a perfect 10/10. We’re so lucky to love these boys.

Meet the Family

Errand runner, bag carrier extraordinaire, holder of soda, road trip buddy, officiant, best friend, and the backbone of this business. He keeps my dreams alive. Working through insane weather like floods and tornadoes, two hours of sleep on travel days, long days after long days; he makes it all happen. I wouldn’t be here without him. You're lucky if you meet him! Life is better just by him being there.

The man, the myth, the legend

Meet Brandon

This is my crazy 12 year old, James. We wear big personalities and the same shirt, sock, and shoe size. He loves video games as much as he hates school (a rebel after my own heart), has rampant ADHD, the weirdest humor, and a heart of gold. Motherhood taught me how to uniquely embrace change, and find deep appreciation within the present. It's an honor to grow up beside him.

I’m obsessed with bastards. They are all Scottish Fold and British Shorthair mix. Winston (black fur) is the trouble maker: if anything is broken, it’s his fault. The gray storm cloud is Jeffrey, named after Bo Burnham’s “Inside”. IFKYK. He’s our little angel. Leonard Cornelius (white fur), is the baby. His name means lion heart. Not much in his noggin, but plops are 10/10. We’re so lucky to have these boys.

See my work

I was not born
To create love for others
But my purpose is to witness it
In honest and vulnerable forms
It is simply being present
Allowing the impact to reach out
And gently touch the pieces of me
That also know love.
